What color should I dye my hair or what color highlights should I get?

I have dark brown eyes and medium brow hair and caramel highlights at the moment. My highlights are starting to show roots and it looks bad and I can't decide if I should dye ALL of my hair or strip the highlights I already have and get more highlights and I can't decide what color to get. I want a "summer" color, also.
