Need help figuring out the name of this folktale?

I remember reading a Chinese(?) folktale when I was younger. It was about this old Chinese lady in a village that was dammed as there was a river nearby (maybe the Yangtze). She sees airplanes fighting in the air and then finds a Japanese soldier wounded somewhere in the periphery of the village and then gives him water and feeds him. Her neighbors call her a traitor for doing so. Eventually everyone else leaves the village, but the old woman stays behind and dies as the river breaks through the dam flooding the village. Please help me figure out the name of this folktale.
