Caramel sauce recipe without butter?

I kno I have had success with a caramel recipe that called for sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, [possibly vanilla, oil, and/or salt,] and NO BUTTER/MARGARINE. Cant find it in my cookbooks or online now tho "/
