Why did fascism fail to succeed in interwar Britain?

I'm studying the rise of fascism and Nazism during the interwar period and I was just wondering why fascism wasn't stronger in Britain? I've read about the British Union but I'm still not sure exactly why they failed to find more followers. Thanks! :)
