History: The growth of fascism?

You cannot do without it because often the military powers are too strong to ignore. The best example I can give you is the revolution of 1848 which started out from Paris and swept across Europe. Germany was badly effected because the revolutionaries broke-up the Confederation to have a new liberally minded government dully assembled in Frankfurt. They introduced a form of government based on quality and a fairer go for the people but in those days, Germany was not ready for these radical changes. The revolutionaries failed to win the support of Saxony and Prussia and when the whole thing settled down a bit the Mon arches of those two States got their nerve back and used their armies to throw the revolutionaries out by means of having most of them arrested, either that of force a lot of them into exile, others were jailed outright. The confederation was re-instated and lasted from 1815 to 1866.
