China's global influence in the 21st century?

well it depends because we have clearly seen how aggressive can get and we saw that in 2009 and 2010. For example in the series of disputes between China and Japan and Vietnam and the Philippines over ocean borders and have threatened military action. Overall, I believe there is going to be a big conflict between America and China. But China's influence in regions like Southeast Asia and South America will be dwindled because of emerging regional superpowers such as Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, and possibly India (India has to many internal problems). And I do believe there will be large conflicts in Asia between China and other countries. For instance, India and China. I do believe the conflict between Pakistan and India will finish and I believe there will be conflict between China and India because of China's military exercises near the Indian border which are sending alarms to India. Also border disputes between Vietnam and China. China's main nightmare is the reunification of Korea because a unified Korea will lead to a economy larger than most of the present G7 and will bring large economic competition and even worse possibly US troops right on the Korean and Chinese border. Any way the positive aspects are in the fields of science and technology in that even though China will surpass America; America and China will be large partners in science. Also Americans should not be scared of America being the second largest economy. Even though they are the largest there will still be problems they will face that we won't such as their population will drop and be imbalanced and poverty and many ethnic conflicts such as the Uighurs and Mongolians. America will still have many important institutions such as the Ivy League, Silicon Valley, Wall Street, the NIH. To finish up, China's influence can be positive or negative. They are the ones who can choose their role as a superpower. They can be a superpower in a multipolar world and work with countries for global prosperity or they can make the world become a school playground of conflict and war. For now, China does not seem ready to carry the burdens of a superpower possibly a hyperpower. Anyway the future is up to grabs, We America can prevent our down fall and learn from the past and invest in our infrastructure and science or we can keep fighting useless wars and claim to be the messenger of democracy when inside our country the rich and powerful destroy the middle class and turn America into a plutocracy and a oligarchy. Hope this helps and sorry for writing a lot.
